The best theme for a birthday party is Cowboy/cowgirl. I had a cowgirl party for my daughter's 5th bday. Most of the guest dresses up with hats, bandanas and boots. The pics were awesome and to top it up we got a farm to come to entertain the kids. The childrens had a blast petting the animals and riding the ponies. I must add that it was not too expensive since most people already have bandana, hats and boots anyway. My party favors were a pony on a stick and we also had a pinata. The kids had a great time! I hope you all try it!

  2. A great birthday party theme is Disco Kids, which I formed this year. A family dance party with music, dance contests, hula hoops, parachute games and more. Held at regular night clubs that have been baby-proofed and turned into a family-friendly dance party event. Fun for the whole family. Feel free to chekc us out at: www.disco-kids.com

  3. I honestly think the best place for a party is your own home. I feel its much more personal. Things you can do to make it fun is certain themes and everyone gets to dress up.

  4. From my short two years of experience as a mom, I would have to say and recommend for all other moms interested in a fun filled, and safe party event for your kids would be at Busy Bee Kidz. I have previously planned parties at my house, parks, and pools, and found myself spending much more money on the bounce house rentals, face painting, tents, tables, chairs... etc. then when i held it at Busy Bee kids this year for my daughters second birthday. Their facility is equipped with all fun activities all age appropriate, indoors in a safe environment, and a very pleasent staff who is there the whole entire time to help you and DO ALMOST everything for you so all you have to do is show up and ACTUALLY enjoy the party with your child/ren and guests and after all is over you just leave. Yes! they do all the setting up, decorationg, hosting, as well as the cleaning up. You dont have to worry about anything.. it has been by far the best party I've held not just said by me but by all my guest, everybody truly loved.

  6. My son loves to bowl and it is a great activity - not just on birthdays (amf.com Pembroke Pines). I haven't been here, but have heard great things and am acquainted with the owner (arttitudeacademy.com) - before these type of things existed, I always had creative parties i.e. cover tables with craft paper, make something or scrap book for older girls. I agree home is the first choice.

  7. I think it depends on the kid. What's fun for one kid might be dull for the next. We're having a train-themed birthday party for my son in a few weeks. He's crazy about trains!

  8. Do you have any info for free events, etc. in the South Miami-Dade area (Cutler Ridge, Homestead, etc.)? I noticed that most of the info on this site is for Broward and Miami Beach. That's too far for us.

    Thanks.

  9. I went to a friend's party at Miami Shores Aquatic Center on 104th and Biscayne... It was great, you pay a flat fee (around 3 hundred)...and you just show up 15 minutes before start time, bring a cake and balloons and you are done... no stress, they have food at the park that you can order and the water park is really fun for 2-10 year olds... Parents get to hang out in the shade, relax in pool or go down some of the fun slides themselves!

I have never been to a party at My Gym, but I heard they do great ones also.

I am a big fan of not having to go through a huge ordeal for a little kid party. The more help you have, the better!

  10. Ms. Sue who does mommy and me classes at Nova does AWESOME parties. I was just at one this past weekend with her there. She is able to capture the babies attention and hold it from start to finish, which was about 45 minutes. She is a little expensive $200, but it really gives the kids a chance to enjoy the party, too! :)

  11. because my daughter's birthday is in May I ALWAYS incorporate water into her birthday parties!!! LOL. I have had her birthday at the beach, at the Normandy Isle Aquatic Center (located in Miami beach), the Flamingo Park Aquatic Center (also located in Miami Beach), Pembroke Falls Aquatic Center (located in Pembroke Pines) and finally a water bash at our house. Kids always have fun in the water and so do the parents :)

We actually did my son's birthday party at CB Smith Park this year and it was a great decision.
We started at 1 p.m. and took over one of the many picnic areas and grilled a lunch for the kids and adults, then had cake and presents. Then at 3 p.m., we headed over to the water park for a couple hours of cool fun.
I liked it because we were able to pack up the party in 15 minutes, get everything cleaned up and put away, and then we were able to enjoy the park with our son and our friends.
We just packed the uneaten food into a cooler, put the gifts in the car, ditched the dirty plates and forks into the nearby trash can, and went to the park.
I remember thinking that was how I was going to do it from now on. No dishes to wash, floors to clean, etc. And everyone enjoyed the end of the party, it was fun and relaxing for all!

  13. I always loved the one year I had my birthday party at Chuck-e-Cheese. But more realistic is just having a backyard/inside party. They are more common and really are fun. More important than location is the theme... but I don't have any good ideas for a theme.

  15. Hi Mrs. Vazquez. It's Bianca from your 4th period. I think this is a great website for things to do!! A great idea for a birthday party is a pool party at a water-park. All the kids will meet at the water-park and ride the slides together. It's a lot of fun. Another idea is house pool party. Invite all the kids to your house and set up a bunch of pool toys and things like water guns. The kids will have a ball and it won't cost much either :-)

  16. Hey Mrs. Vazquez its Avery from 2nd period! I think that Wannado City would be a great place to have a birthday party! You would get your own room for everyone. Then that get to try out jobs! They also have a mini little food court! They would have a blast! It is fun for kids almost all ages! There is always something fun to do there! They could hang out there for hours! :D

  17. Hello Ms. Vazquez It's Andrew M. from 2nd period.
I think a space theme is a great theme for a birthday party because not only can you find great ideas for decorations and the lucky birthday boy/girl and her/his friends can learn about space too.

  19. I agree a little bit with Marcy. Cowgirl parties are the best. But I believe horse-themed partues are fun. Pony rides-witch can get a LITTLE pricey-bring out the best in everyone. Anyone who isn't relaxed, happy, and at home on a horse has problems no therapist can help. Kids feel at home on horses. And feeding them carrots and feeling their velvety lips on your palm is a feeling no one can tell you-you have to expirience it yourself.

  20. hi ms. Vazquez!it is carina from 2nd period! When I was six years old, I had my B-day party at a kids chocolate factory. The whole party we were making things out of chocolate and dipping things into a chocolate fountain! At the end of the party, everything you made went into your goodie bag! It was so much fun!

  21. Thank you so much for all the great ideas. I'm into the chocolate party! Yum. I also will look into Miss Sue.
The water park ideas are phenomenal, but K.'s birthday is in October, so it may not work for us. The horse/cowgirl theme is also must for me! Thanks again, everyone, and congrats, Laura!!
PS. Fabi, I'm now giving away passes to Busy Bee. Best place!
